Top Gun: Maverick is taking off on Netflix on March 22nd.
Decades after the original, Top Gun returns with Tom Cruise reprising his iconic role as Maverick. This time, he’s not just flying but training a new generation – including a young pilot with a surprising connection to his past. The burning questions: are the aerial sequences breathtaking? Does the film capture the camaraderie of the original? You’ll have to watch it for yourself but if we had to answer–it’s definitely yes!
While Tom Cruise couldn’t personally pilot the jets (though his skills might beg to differ), the stunts are authentic with minimal CGI. Following up a legendary film is a tall order, but Top Gun: Maverick delivers. It masterfully honors the original with nods to the past (including some surprise appearances) while soaring into its exciting story.
