Amazon has launched Amazon Autos, allowing customers in 48 U.S. cities to purchase new Hyundai vehicles online. The platform enables users to browse models, customize features, secure financing or pay in full, and select optional protection products. Customers can pick up their vehicle at a local dealership or arrange delivery.
This initiative aims to simplify the car-buying process by reducing the need for traditional dealership visits and price negotiations.
Studies by Cox Automotive indicate declining satisfaction with traditional dealership experiences in the U.S. Fan Jin, global head of Amazon Autos, states that the platform enhances transparency and convenience for customers.
It also offers an “instant valuation” feature for trade-ins, with final assessments conducted by an independent third party.
Currently, Amazon Autos features select Hyundai models, primarily the Ioniq 5. Plans are in place to expand the selection to include more models and additional automotive brands next year, with potential expansion beyond the U.S.
For a limited time, Amazon is offering a $2,300 gift card to customers who purchase a Hyundai through the platform, valid until January 10, 2025
