Ford Offers Buyers Employee Pricing After Tariffs Kick In

2 Min Read

With new taxes on imported cars kicking in, Ford Motor Company announced Thursday it will offer car buyers the same employee discount on 2024-25 gas, electric, and hybrid car models.

The “From America, For America” promotion coincides with the implementation of a 25% U.S. tariff on imported vehicles, following President Trump’s sweeping tariff increases on U.S. trading partners.

Analysts predict these tariffs will significantly raise consumer prices, with one study from Michigan-based Anderson Economic Group estimating potential price hikes of up to $12,200 for certain car models.

The promotion, running from April 3 to June 2, features employee-level discounts on a range of 2024 and 2025 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, including gas, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and diesel models. Excluded are Ford Raptor models, 2025 Expedition and Navigator SUVs, and Super Duty trucks. Ford’s website provides full details of the offer.

Ford’s first-quarter earnings report revealed a surge in dealership demand, with sales rising 5% overall and a 19% jump in March, as consumers anticipate price increases due to the tariffs.

The tariffs are already impacting the automotive industry. Stellantis, with brands like Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, and Ram, announced production halts at its Canadian and Mexican plants, resulting in temporary layoffs for 900 workers in the Midwest, according to CBS News Detroit.

Stellantis will suspend production at its Windsor Assembly Plant from April 7, with operations scheduled to resume the week of April 21, affecting 4,500 employees.
