Kai Cenat’s early life
An interesting fact most people don’t know about Kai is that he’s a twin! Yes, Kai has a twin sister named Kaia. He also has an older brother named Devonte and a younger brother named Kaleel. Kai and his siblings have always had a strong bond, and it continues to remain intact even with his wildly successful brand.
Kai was born in the Bronx, a borough of New York City, where he grew into his bright, bold, infectious personality, allowing him to amass over 9 million followers on Twitch. Before he fully stepped into his fame, Kai attended the State University of New York at Morrisville, where he planned to study Business. But, due to his jump to stardom, he fully committed his efforts to streaming and social media influence.

Even though Kai is most known for his hilarious streams, he actually originally started on YouTube! After joining a popular YouTube group, Any Means Possible, he began gaining a following due to his refreshing personality and hilarious humor. That was in 2018, and it wasn’t until 2021 when Kai began streaming on Twitch.
Kai’s streaming success allowed him to venture into other career paths, most notably hopping on a song with NLE Choppa called “Bustdown Rollie Avalanche.” This was a pivotal point in his career as it meant he was no longer just a “streamer” but a serious part of online and hip-hop culture. In 2023, Nicki Minaj also stopped by Kai’s stream on her press tour for Pink Friday II. The clips from these interviews went viral, as Kai and his family showed their long-time support for Nicki and celebrated the success of her album.

It’s reported that Kai makes over $20,000 a month from streaming alone; that’s not including brand deals and other partnerships that he has. In 2023, he also became the most followed streamer of all time, setting a record that no other streamer has managed to surpass. Recently, Kai played a significant role in Global Pursuit, a movie inspired by the “Rush Hour” franchise, co-starring Ray H. The 17-minute movie premiered on YouTube as a short film and received mixed reviews.
