The Boys universe is expanding with its first spinoff, Vought Rising. This exciting prequel to the popular Prime Video superhero series will feature Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash. They will reprise their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront while also taking on production duties. Fans of The Boys can look forward to seeing more of their favorite characters in this highly anticipated series.
The news will be revealed by Jensen Ackles (in person) and Aya Cash (via video) at The Boys Comic-Con panel. This is expected to be one of the biggest TV announcements at the convention. Paul Grellong, the executive producer of The Boys series, will also be the showrunner and executive producer of Vought Rising. This new series comes from the creative team behind The Boys, led by Eric Kripke, the developer and showrunner of the original show.
“We are excited to bring you the next wild series from the world of The Boys,” Kripke and Grellong said before revealing the time period and premise of the prequel. “It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the evil maneuvers of a Supe known as Stormfront, who was then called Clara Vought. We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this shocking, bloody saga.”
Soldier Boy and Stormfront have similar origin stories. Soldier Boy is the first American Supe who doesn’t age, created by Frederick Vought during World War II. Stormfront was Frederick Vought’s first successful test subject for Compound V, and she married him before they moved to the U.S.
Grellong and Kripke will executive produce Vought Rising alongside Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, and Michaela Starr. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
