Google Calendar slots changing to schedules

1 Min Read

According to 9to5Google, Google Calendar is upgrading to a new system called “appointment schedules.” Previously offering “appointment slots” for education and business users to manage bookings, the move to appointment scheduling will allow seamless integration with your calendar. Scheduling will prevent double bookings and offer helpful features like buffer time between appointments and daily caps on the number of bookings.

When it launched in 2021, appointment scheduling allowed you to craft booking pages that could be easily shared through a link. According to Google, appointment schedules have become the superior option, providing a more streamlined booking process and a wider range of functionalities.

While Google will be phasing out appointment slots entirely in favor of appointment schedules by July 18, 2024, you won’t be able to create new appointment slot booking pages. In the meantime, your existing slots will be usable until then, but they won’t automatically transfer over. So keep that in mind. You’ll need to recreate your setup using appointment schedules to keep offering booking options.
