MKBHD slams Cybertruck panel gaps: “Worst Ever”?

Thanks to its triangular (cyberpunk-like) design, the Cybertruck is arguably the most unique production car we have seen in the last few years. Several creators have reviewed this truck, including Marques Brownlee (MKBHD), one of the most popular and reliable tech YouTubers.

After using this truck for several weeks, MKBHD shared his thoughts about his experience on his Auto Focus YouTube channel. One of the notable downsides he mentioned was the wide panel gap on the driver’s door.

MKBHD claimed that this panel gap was the largest he had seen on any car he had reviewed. However, he acknowledged that this was one of the first few Cybertrucks produced, so the issue may not be as widespread on the trucks built afterward.

Even though Tesla has been known for build-quality issues and panel gaps, the one on the Cybertruck shown in MKBHD’s video is way beyond acceptable for a truck costing over $62,000. As you might have expected, the “panel gap” clip from MKBHD’s video was widely shared on X and led to a couple of reactions, with people criticizing Tesla for not focusing on build quality.

Elon Musk responded to one of these posts, saying that this issue only affected 15 Cybertrucks and that it takes about five minutes to fix. So, we hope anyone having panel gap issues with their Cybertruck could probably have them fixed in a few minutes.
