In the current Gmail app for Android, replying to emails can be a bit tricky. You have to click the Reply or Reply All button in the top-right corner, which opens a full-screen window, making it hard to see the original email while you type your response. Google is now fixing this with a new UI update.

Recently, Google announced that the Gmail app for Android is getting a new user interface. With this update, when you tap Reply or Reply All (example below), a small text input window will appear at the bottom of the screen, just below the email you’re replying to. This allows you to type your response while still being able to see the original message.

The new design is similar to the text input fields you see in apps like Google Messages and WhatsApp. If you need more space to write longer emails, you can tap an expand button to switch to the full-screen reply window.
