Apple is developing an AI-powered health coach, codenamed Project Mulberry, aiming to integrate it into future iOS versions and potentially launch as early as next year.

This initiative, reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, would leverage data from Apple’s Health app and Apple Watch to provide personalized advice on diet and exercise.

CEO Tim Cook has long signaled Apple’s ambition to expand its healthcare technology offerings. While details remain unclear, the service, potentially branded “Health Plus,” is being trained on physician data and may include content from medical experts. It’s uncertain whether Project Mulberry will function as a diagnostic tool or a wellness advisor.

The potential of AI in preventative care and risk assessment is significant, as highlighted by the Mayo Clinic. However, concerns exist about the pitfalls of AI in healthcare.

A recent ECRI report identified AI as the top healthcare hazard for 2025, citing the potential for inaccurate or misleading information and product malfunctions. We’ll have to wait and see how this story develops.
