Apple Watch Alarms Get a Quietly Useful Upgrade

1 Min Read

For those of us who rely on our Apple Watch for that gentle nudge in the morning, watchOS 11.4 is bringing us a useful update in early April 2025. It addresses a common frustration: trying to wake up to an alarm when your watch is in Silent Mode.

The update introduces an option, as seen in the latest beta, to let the Sleep Wake Up alarm sound even when everything else is silenced. The new setting lets you choose, on an alarm-by-alarm basis, to allow the sound to come through.

It’s a small adjustment that makes sense in the real world. Sometimes, those haptic vibrations, even on the strongest setting are not enough. With this update, you can keep the quiet when you need it and still trust your watch to wake you up.

Beyond this, watchOS 11.4 is also adding support for controlling those handy robot vacuums that work with Matter and, of course, the usual behind-the-scenes tweaks that keep things running smoothly. With the final beta out, we should see the full update to arrive in early April, offering a bit more flexibility in our daily routines.
