Apple is introducing Apple Intelligence, a new AI feature suite that includes an updated Siri, image generation, and photo-editing tools. Many believe this could be even more exciting than the upcoming iOS 18. However, it may come with a price tag.

According to Neil Shah from Counterpoint Research, Apple might charge between $10 and $20 for some of the advanced features in Apple Intelligence. While he didn’t clarify which features would be free or paid, it’s likely that enhancements to Siri or integration with ChatGPT could incur costs.

Shah also suggested that if Apple charges for Apple Intelligence, it may bundle it with the Apple One plan, which includes iCloud storage and subscriptions to services like Apple TV Plus and Apple Music, similar to Google’s approach with its Google One plan.

There’s a growing trend of charging for AI features, as seen with OpenAI’s advanced ChatGPT model. Shah pointed out that Apple Intelligence could further lock users into the Apple ecosystem, as the AI would personalize experiences based on user behavior, and this data wouldn’t easily transfer if users decide to switch to Android.
