Season 2 of “Squid Game” finally arrived on December 26th, and Google Search is celebrating in a fittingly eerie way.
Just like during major pop culture events, searching “squid game” on desktop or mobile conjures up the iconic floating invitation card. Tap it, and you’re plunged into a fullscreen “Red Light, Green Light” game. The eerie soundtrack is highly recommended, though you can mute it.
You control six characters using the “Go” and “Stop” buttons. To mimic the show’s tension, you advance when the creepy doll isn’t looking and freeze when she turns. Thankfully, getting “caught” here is less gruesome than in the series.
This simple yet effective game provides a chillingly fun way to spend a few minutes this holiday season. Season 2 arrives three years after the first, with a final season promised for 2025. The post-Christmas release might seem unusual, but it’s perfect for binge-watching.
