Many users reported seeing “SOS” in their status bar, indicating no service but the ability to make emergency calls. The cause of the outage remains unknown, but AT&T has acknowledged the issue and is working to resolve it.
According to Downdetector, most AT&T outage reports originated from major cities like Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, San Antonio, Charlotte, Dallas, Indianapolis, and New York City. AT&T’s network outage has been resolved as of 3:10 p.m. ET, affecting most customers. Other carriers like Cricket, Verizon, and T-Mobile also experienced minor outages earlier today. The cause of the AT&T outage and its connection to the FirstNet network remains unclear.
While some customers are back online, other customers continue to report outages. Currently, solutions provided by customers to other customers include resetting your device and contacting AT&T for additional support. No ETA has been provided by AT&T in response to multiple inquiries.
