The latest OS updates let you create an AirTag link to help airlines find your luggage, with built-in privacy safeguards.

Losing luggage at the airport can be stressful, but using an Apple AirTag in your bag can make tracking it easier. With the latest updates in iOS/iPadOS 18.2 and macOS Sequoia 15.2, the Find My app now lets you create a shareable link to your AirTag’s location.

This link can be shared with family, friends, or even airline staff, who can help locate your bag in areas you can’t access. Sharing with airline personnel can be especially helpful, as they can track your bag in restricted areas where travelers aren’t allowed.

Starting this week, United, Delta, and Air Canada are supporting this new feature, according to Apple’s senior marketing VP Greg Joswiak. In a post on X, Joswiak also confirmed that more airlines will join soon.

Apple initially announced this feature last month, revealing partnerships with over 15 airlines, including British Airways, Lufthansa, KLM, and Turkish Airlines. The company plans to add even more airlines in the future, making it easier for travelers worldwide to locate lost or delayed luggage.
