Samsung is preparing to launch the third version of one of their most popular budget tablets, the Tab S6 Lite. The initial version of this tablet debuted in 2020 and received a minor spec bump (CPU mainly) in 2022. According to WinFuture (a credible German-based tech news website), the third iteration of the Tab S6 Lite is scheduled for release by the end of this month, along with some budget phones.
Current reports indicate that the tablet will likely maintain the same design as previous versions, including its 10.4-inch (2,000 x 1,200 resolution) display and 7,040mAh battery capacity. Storage and RAM configurations are also expected to be similar to previous models, offering 64GB with 4GB RAM and 128GB with 4GB RAM.
However, the Tab S6 Lite will feature the newer Exynos 1280 chipset, which offers slightly better CPU and GPU performance than the SM7150 Snapdragon 732G and 720G found in the 2022 version. This tablet is also expected to retain the previous version’s SD card slot and run Android 14 out of the box. Regarding connectivity, the Tab S6 Lite will support GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1 (up from 5.0), a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Tab S6 Lite tablet will join the Galaxy Tab A9, Galaxy Tab S9 FE, and Galaxy Tab S9 in Samsung’s budget tablet lineup.
