Starting next month, Volvo and Polestar EV owners will gain access to Tesla’s Supercharger network, which will add over 17,800 new charging stations across North America. After adopting the North American Charging System (NACS) standard, Volvo and its EV brand, Polestar, announced they will enable Supercharger access through a CCS-to-NACS adapter.

Volvo’s 2025 electric SUVs, including the flagship EX90 and the newly renamed EX40 and EC40 (formerly XC40 and C40 Recharge), will come with an NACS adapter. Current Volvo EV owners in the U.S. and Canada can purchase the adapter from dealers starting Nov. 18 for $230 (CA$310). For the EX30 compact SUV, which faces delayed U.S. deliveries due to technical and tariff issues, adapter availability will be announced later.

Polestar’s rollout mirrors Volvo’s. Existing Polestar owners can order adapters through Service Points, and delivery is expected by mid-November. It remains unclear if the new Polestar 2, Polestar 3, and Polestar 4 models will include the adapter.

On Nov. 18, Volvo EVs will also receive a software update integrating Tesla Superchargers into Google Maps and Google Assistant, enabling real-time charge availability and automatic payments via the Volvo Cars app. Similar updates for Polestar’s Google-powered system are expected soon.
