The Tesla Cybertruck, a heavy, stainless steel pickup truck, faced serious safety concerns during a recent test of its Full-Self Driving (FSD) system.

In tests by Chris from the YouTube channel Dirty Tesla, the truck failed to detect small objects like a box or bucket and struggled with larger ones, relying on emergency braking to stop for a kid’s bike.

The most alarming issue was its failure to recognize a human-sized mannequin, instead showing a faint, unclear image on its screen. Even when the mannequin’s arms were raised, the truck didn’t detect it. In one test, FSD stopped for Chris standing in front of the truck, but it dangerously swerved too close in another.

Tesla launched FSD for the Cybertruck in September, but it’s still not a true self-driving system and requires a driver’s full attention. The system has been linked to crashes and is under federal investigation.

FSD will also power Tesla’s future Robotaxi service. With Elon Musk now working on government efficiency, changes to regulations could help Tesla move forward. However, FSD’s safety remains a big question.
