In a win for fans of AMC shows, Netflix has struck a deal to bring several popular series to the streaming platform starting this summer. This includes the first eight seasons of “Fear the Walking Dead” and the first season of the new spin-off “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.” Other highlights include “Preacher,” “A Discovery of Witches,” and “Into the Badlands.”

All shows will be available for one year starting August 19th, with the exception of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” and “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” which will arrive in January 2025.

These AMC shows will be available on Netflix without commercials, even on the ad-supported plan. This is also the case for the existing eleven seasons of The Walking Dead on Netflix.

In 2023, AMC made a similar deal that lasted for a shorter period to bring Fear the Walking Dead and other shows to HBO Max. This likely aimed to increase awareness of their content before focusing on building their own streaming service, AMC+, which currently has around 11.5 million subscribers (as of May 2024).
