James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, thanked fans for making the new Superman teaser trailer the most-watched in DC and Warner Bros. history, with over 250 million views!
Gunn shared the exciting news on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Krypto really did take us home! With over 250 million views and a million social posts, Superman is officially the most viewed and talked about trailer in DC and Warner Bros. history. This is because of all of you – thank you! We can’t wait to share this movie with you in July. Happy Holidays!”
While the Superman trailer made history for DC, the current record for most views overall is held by Deadpool & Wolverine from Marvel, with 365 million views. Before this, DC’s most-watched trailer was Joker: Folie à Deux, which had 167 million views in one day.
The Superman trailer, inspired by the All Star Superman comic, shows David Corenswet as both Superman and his alter ego, Clark Kent. Fans also got a fun first look at Krypto, Superman’s loyal dog, who runs to help his owner in a key moment from the trailer.
The movie will follow Superman’s journey as he balances his Kryptonian heritage with his life as Clark Kent in Smallville, Kansas. Guided by kindness and a sense of justice, Superman shows the world that doing the right thing never goes out of style.
Superman hits theaters on July 11, 2025.
