Among the four new iPhone models expected to be announced next month, the iPhone 16 Pro Max—the most expensive option—is likely to be the most popular. Apple has reportedly instructed suppliers to ramp up production of this model, making it the most produced iPhone in this year’s lineup.
According to a supply chain report (via AppleInsider), Apple anticipates that the Pro-series iPhones will continue to be more popular than the standard models. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to make up 37% of total new device shipments this year, with the iPhone 16 Pro accounting for 30%, the iPhone 16 for 27%, and the iPhone 16 Plus for just 6%.
Together, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max could make up 67% of total production. The new iPhone 16 lineup is expected to retain a design similar to the iPhone 15 series but with some updates, like a new capacitive button on the side for capturing photos and videos. The Pro models are also rumored to have slightly larger displays, with the iPhone 16 Pro featuring a 6.3-inch screen and the Pro Max a 6.9-inch screen.
Apple is reportedly set to unveil the iPhone 16 series on Tuesday, September 10.
