Well, it’s official. What an end of an era, indeed.
The company has now removed the T-Mobile app from app stores, marking the end of its 12-year run. If you search for the T-Mobile app, you’ll be prompted to download T Life instead.
The transition began earlier this year when T-Mobile discontinued the T-Mobile Tuesdays app and shifted its features to T Life. In January, T-Mobile launched a new app called T Life, gradually adding features from the old T-Mobile app.
Over time, the new app added more functions from the T-Mobile app, and now T-Mobile has made the switch official. An email sent on November 7 encouraged customers to move to T Life, calling it the “new everything app.”
For users who still have the T-Mobile app on their phones, it remains functional for now, as it was updated as recently as November 7. However, since it’s no longer available for download, future updates are unlikely. Without updates, the app won’t gain new features and could pose security risks.
With T Life offering the same features and being actively supported, it’s probably time to delete the old T-Mobile app and make the switch.
