Following its October launch of the M3 chip for iMac and MacBook Pro, Apple unveiled new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models powered by the M3 chip, aiming to boost Mac sales that grew less than 1% in the last quarter.
Apple’s new MacBook Air features sharper 1080p webcams, faster Wi-Fi, and up to 18 hours of battery life while retaining the familiar design. The M3 chip empowers users to connect up to two external displays, surpassing the single-display limit of previous models.
Apple’s recent announcement emphasizes the company’s focus on artificial intelligence (AI), with the MacBook Air dubbed the “world’s best consumer laptop for AI.” Compared to the launch of the M3-powered iMac in October, this shift in messaging suggests Apple’s intent to compete with new Windows laptops marketed as “AI PCs.
Starting at $1,099, the 13-inch MacBook Air and the 15-inch model starting at $1,299 are now available for order. Both will be in stores beginning March 8, 2024.
