T-Mobile just gave its 5G network a big boost by activating a brand new set of airwaves it recently acquired. This means millions of customers nationwide can expect a big jump in their internet speeds. But T-Mobile isn’t just focusing on the big cities this time. They’re also using this upgrade to bring faster internet to rural areas that haven’t had the best access in the past.

This flip of the switch means faster internet for T-Mobile and mobile and broadband services in new areas while also giving a big boost to bandwidth in existing zones. The good news doesn’t stop there—nearly 60 million customers can expect a jump in performance right away, with even more areas coming online as they build new towers.

Activating this new spectrum is another move in their pursuit to set them above the other networks. Currently, T-Mobile claims their 5G is already the biggest and fastest in the country, reaching over 330 million people and covering a whopping two million square miles, beating out AT&T and Verizon combined.
