The return of former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has been making headlines for the last couple of months. Mike Tyson, 57, will return to boxing on July 20 with a fight against YouTube personality Jake Paul, 27.

Tyson is among the most celebrated boxers with over 50 wins out of 56, 44 of which were knockouts. On the other hand, Jake Paul has lost only one in the ten fights he has had with a mix of celebrities and middling fighters.

The only fight lost was against Tyson Fury’s brother, Tommy Fury. The fight between Tyson and Paul is a professional fight after being commissioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations. Despite Tyson’s incredible record as a professional boxer, several popular figures in the boxing community have raised concerns about this fight.

Former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder said, “I don’t want the last thing I remember of him is him getting knocked out by a YouTuber,” said Wilder. “The last thing you do, that’s what people remember you by.” He also wondered why the commission licensed Mike Tyson, knowing that he hasn’t been active for almost 20 years now.

Joke Paul, on the other hand, seems to be ready for the challenge. He said, “I’m super respectful of Mike, but… all is fair in love and war.” During a Fox News interview in April, Tyson said, “Anything I’m afraid of, I confront it, and that’s my personality. Like right now, I’m scared to death. But as the fight gets closer, the less nervous I become because it’s reality. And in reality, I’m invincible.”

Our fingers are crossed to see how this fight turns out come July 20th.
