Fairfax County Police announced on Saturday that two drivers involved in an illegal street race in Tysons have been arrested. Detectives were alerted on Oct. 29 to a viral social media video showing a blue Lamborghini and a Tesla Cybertruck racing near Leesburg Pike and Westwood Center Drive.
The race took place on Oct. 13 and gained widespread attention after Tesla CEO Elon Musk commented on the video on X, which received over 100 million views.
After investigating, police identified the Tesla Cybertruck driver as Christian Camacho, 48, of Vienna, Va., and the Lamborghini driver as Carlos Montero, 37, of Sterling, Va.
On Friday, Camacho turned himself in at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and was charged with Racing and Stopping on the Highway.
That same day, officers arrested Montero, charging him with Racing, Stopping on the Highway, and two counts of Improper Lane Change.
Both men were later released on an unsecured bond. Fairfax County Police posted on X that detectives are still searching for the “flagger” and encouraged anyone with information to call 703-280-0543.
