Swiping right just got a little safer on Tinder. Tinder, a widely used dating app, is enhancing its safety measures by expanding its ID verification process to four additional countries. This new step aims to ensure the authenticity of user profiles and create a more secure environment for everyone.
Tinder’s enhanced verification process requires a short video selfie and a valid government-issued ID like a driver’s license or passport to boost user safety and profile authenticity. This step confirms that the person in the selfie matches both the ID photo and the user’s profile pictures.
Additionally, it verifies the user’s date of birth against the ID information. A user can conveniently complete the entire process through your Tinder profile page.
Tinder offers two verification levels to help you make informed match decisions. Completing a quick video selfie earns you a blue camera badge, confirming your profile picture accurately reflects you. Completing ID verification with a valid government ID adds a blue ID badge, guaranteeing your age and identity. The ultimate trust symbol? A blue checkmark is given to those who complete both steps.
