Oladance has recently unveiled its latest creation in the audio space: the open-ear headphones. These headphones are primarily designed for activities that involve sweating or for users who may not want headphones that stick into their ears. In announcing these headphones, Oladance emphasized that they provide “a natural, open, and safe connection between consumers and their environment.”
Traditional earbuds can cause discomfort over prolonged use, especially for users who engage in active activities such as running, yoga, biking, or gym workouts. To enhance comfort and prevent irritation while using, these headphones rest on top of your ear rather than sticking inside like most traditional headphones.
These headphones are also made using a soft liquid silicone rubber to improve their comfort. This material feels luxurious against the skin and ensures most users a snug and ergonomic fit. Since they are open-ear headphones, they are ideal for users with unique ear shapes who need help getting traditional earbuds that fit them comfortably.
Despite being open-ear, Oladance designed these headphones to offer great sound quality. They utilize Open Wearable technology (OWS), which uses air conduction technology as the medium for sound transmission. This technology also supports 3D sound, which is almost as good as the spatial audio in traditional headphones.
To create excellent sound quality and wind cancellation features, these open-ear headphones come packed with the Qualcomm aptX chip that handles all the required computing. This chip is also responsible for creating the “crystal-clear, 360° home theater quality sound to keep active users immersed and motivated” that Oladance mentioned in their announcement. Oladance also has a mobile app that allows users to fine-tune the sound further by choosing an audio profile.
The earbuds also have an IP68 waterproof rating, making them suitable for outdoor activities and workouts. Regarding battery life, these headphones offer up to 15 hours of use on a single charge, enabling active wind cancellation and allowing users to enjoy uninterrupted listening for extended periods.
