According to a recent blog post, Spotify is rolling out music videos as a perk for Premium users in select regions (including Brazil, Colombia, Germany, and more). For now, you can watch them on their mobile (Android & iOS), desktop (Mac & Windows), and TV apps. The feature is still in beta, so the library is limited to artists like Ed Sheeran and Doja Cat, alongside some local favorites.
How to switch to video on Spotify
From what we gather, a “Switch to Video” button will appear on the Now Playing screen when you’re jamming out to a song with a music video available. Tap it to ditch the album art and watch the music video! Want to go back to just listening? A new “Switch to Audio” button will appear, letting you switch back to the audio and continue where you left off.
It’s unclear whether you’ll need to update your Spotify app to watch music videos. They might be rolling it out gradually on their servers. So keep an eye out for the “Switch to Video” button on the Now Playing screen – that’s your sign the feature is available for you.
