Well, the initial excitement surrounding the Vision Pro’s February 2nd launch seems to be cooling down, with a trend of early adopters returning their headsets before the 14-day return window closes. As with many new products, we expected this much.

Many early adopters have shared their experiences on social media, including their decision to return the headset. Users returning their Vision Pro headsets cite comfort (or lack thereof), headaches, and eye strain as factors in their decision.

Early reports indicate that the Vision Pro’s premium cost, lack of supported technology and practicality, weight distribution, and potential discomfort caused by the Vision Pro are some reasons users have decided to return the headset.

Speaking of comfort, users shared concerns with discomfort and light leakage due to an improperly fitting light seal, leading to headaches and a “binocular” effect. While Apple offers a simple swap to the correct light seal size as a solution, many users with disrupted viewing experiences are choosing the return option for their Vision Pro.

A return reason that we did not expect is the reality of a lonely reality. Coupled with the premium cost of entry ($3,500), its limited technology, and users’ discomfort from the weight after long periods, the decision to return is warranted.
