After a long hiatus, Panasonic Holdings Corp., once the leading TV manufacturer globally, is re-entering the US television market. They are introducing three new models (Z95, Z85 and W95 Series) featuring advanced OLED and LED displays.

Known for its wide range of appliances and supplier of electric vehicle batteries, Panasonic discontinued production of plasma displays in 2013 due to high costs and reduced demand. However, advancements in smart home technology and an expansion of its business operations have paved the way for this comeback, notes Executive Vice President Yasunari Anan.

These models are now available on Amazon and at Costco. In partnership with Amazon earlier this year, these televisions come equipped with Fire TV, enhancing the viewing experience with options for video-on-demand and online gaming.

What is the Difference Between the New Panasonic TV Models?

The main differences between the Panasonic Z95, Z85, and W95 series TVs lie in the display technology and screen size availability.

Z95 and Z85 are OLED TVs, known for excellent contrast and deep blacks.  W95 is a Mini LED TV, offering high brightness and improved contrast over regular LED TVs, but it might not match the absolute blacks of OLED.

Currently, only a 65-inch Z95 is available. Z85 comes in 65-inch with more sizes likely coming soon based on the information available. W95 is available in 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch options.

All three series share the same Fire TV platform for smart features and the Mark II processor.

We can’t wait to see these new TVs!
