Google has introduced a new feature called Gmail Q&A, powered by Gemini AI, that lets you recall your emails and search your inbox more effectively. This feature was first previewed at the Google I/O event in May and is now rolling out.

Gmail Q&A helps you manage your inbox by allowing you to ask questions like finding specific emails, viewing unread messages, or summarizing topics. It’s currently available to Google One AI Premium subscribers and Google Workspace users with Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium add-ons.

The feature is rolling out now to Android devices, with iOS support coming soon. Previously, this functionality was only available in the side panel of Gmail on the web, so having it on mobile is a significant upgrade.

Microsoft’s AI tool, Copilot, is available on Outlook. It helps you summarize email threads, suggests actions, and assists in drafting emails, including choosing the length and tone.

Recently, Google introduced Gemini in the side panel of Workspace apps like Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive. Powered by Gemini 1.5 Pro, it lets you summarize, analyze, and generate content without leaving the app. It’s likely that this feature will soon come to Gmail mobile apps as well.

Gemini has seen several updates recently. Google added support for new file types in the chatbot (though it’s not free), introduced customizable Gems (similar to custom GPTs on ChatGPT), and launched the Imagen 3 model on Gemini for image generation.
